Chandler, Ariz. - St. Cloud State (11-4) opened their spring break trip with a offensive display, as the Huskies trounced the Rochester Institute of Technology (2-6) 22-4 at the Snedigar Baseball Complex in Chandler, Ariz.
A host of Huskies provided pleny of pop, as Sam Radbil (Milwaukee, Wis.) continued his torrid start with a perfect 4-4 performance that included two RBI, two runs and a stolen base.
Two of the bigger blows came from the bat of senior Lauren Green (Inglewood, Calif.). Green was 2-2, but unleashed a three-run home run, a three-RBI double and a sac fly to add seven RBI to his season total.
Tyler Horning (Willmar) and Nate Hammes (Lake Elmo) were also flawless at the plate, posting 3-3 and 2-2 days respectively. Hammes recorded two triples, an RBI, two runs and was also plunked by two pitches.
Mic Johnson (Fergus Falls) rounded out the stellar stick work, as he went 3-4, coming a home run short of the cycle.
David Deminsky (Sartell) started on the hill and went four innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit.
Tim Scott (Ely) came in relief to pick up the win, moving to 4-0 on the 2009 campaign.
The Huskies are in action tomorrow (Sunday) with a game against Rockford (Ill.) in Mesa, Ariz. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. central standard time.
