Frequently Asked Questions
Why is faculty and staff giving important and why should I give?
Faculty and staff are the most aware of what additional funding can do in terms of programs, staffing and facilities. We know an additional investment will pay significant dividends in terms of student experience, the well-being of our university and our future. By participating, we not only demonstrate our pride and dedication to St. Cloud State, but we also send a powerful message to those outside the university, such as alumni and friends, corporations, legislators, and communities throughout the world. Our display of a strong commitment will set a positive example, and demonstrate that we value this institution not just as our employer, but as an important contributor to society. Your gift to the campaign demonstrates your investment in St. Cloud State University.
Can I specify where my contributions should go?
Absolutely! Your contribution can be designated to a variety of areas including student scholarships, colleges, departments, or programs. We have over 462 Scholarship Funds and 278 other funds that you can direct your gift towards. Your gift directly benefits the area you choose. Click here to view the list of funds.
Can I designate my gift to more than one area?
Sure! Clearly note how much you want to give to each fund on the pledge form. If you still have questions contact Kim Hiltner at the Foundation office.
I can only give a modest amount. How can that possibly make a difference?
All gifts are important! What is important is that you give, not necessarily the amount. The University Campaign exemplifies the collective power of the university. With each person doing what he or she can, we all make a big difference. If all employees of the university made or increased their gift by $1.00 a pay check we would raise more than $41,000 in support of students.
Is my gift tax deductible and where do campaign funds go?
Yes! 100 percent of your gift is tax deductible. Also, 100% of your donation is directed to the fund(s) that you choose to designate your gift. If you have questions regarding the fund list contact Kim Hiltner at the Foundation office.
