SCSU Career Center

Welcome to the Career Center! Our dedicated staff is here to help students and alumni with their career planning needs. We work with students to clarify academic major and career aspirations, identify internship and employment opportunities, and offer advising and support at every stage of career development. Our office can provide resources and services to our faculty and campus partners to assist them in their respective roles as they provide career information to students. We would not be able to complete our mission without our community partners and the many employers that hire our students and alumni.

Our Mission: To provide career exploration assistance, internship and employment resources to students and alumni, create partnerships to support students in their career transitions, and promote life long career engagement.

Our goal is that students will start the process of career engagement early and meet the following Career Learning Outcomes.

Students will:

  • Identify, evaluate, and use resources which are relevant to making career decisions
  • Analyze and articulate their interests, skills, values, and strengths and determine their career direction
  • Pursue involvement through internships, research, volunteering, etc. to enhance their skills and gain experience
  • Know how to make professional connection and network effectively
  • Have awareness and understanding to communicate and work with diverse populations
  • Effectively articulate and demonstrate their qualifications to enhance their educational and career outcomes
