The Flu and YouH1N1 at St. Cloud StateCampus Update: November 20, 2009Student Health Services has received a limited amount of injectable H1N1 vaccine and is taking calls now from students to schedule appointments for Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and State and Local Health Departments have recommended that our initial supply of vaccine be reserved only for the following groups:
There is no charge for the vaccination. Our initial supply may not meet the needs of all the students in the above categories, so we will continue to advocate for more vaccine for our campus community and update students when conditions change or more vaccine is expected. Faculty and staff who meet the criteria listed above, and wish to receive the H1N1 vaccine, are encouraged to consult with their personal health care provider regarding vaccine availability. For more information about the vaccine, go to the following link from the Minnesota Department of Health: http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/idepc/diseases/flu/basics/vaccine.html Previous Updates:
People with possible flu symptoms can call the Minnesota FluLine at 1-866-259-4655 for information and treatment options. Professionals will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is no charge for the call.
