Marketing in the Herberger Business School offers Bachelor of Science degrees in both Marketing and General Business, with opportunities for specialization and minors.
Marketing
Marketing students will develop the skills and insight necessary to compete for and succeed in high-demand positions in traditional and emerging areas of marketing. Graduates will be knowledgeable in the areas of product planning, professional selling and sales management, market research, advertising, promotion, strategic logistics management, customer service and beyond.

General Business
General Business students are prepared to enter a global field where information, economics and people collide. Students will strengthen their skills in trend assessment, resource management, information system comprehension and more through the context of producing goods and services. This well-rounded degree program touches on accounting, business law, computing, economics, marketing and statistics.

Marketing and General Business Program Highlights
- The General Business program may be completed in a variety of settings, including on-campus at St. Cloud State University, through the online degree completion program, via the online Anoka-Ramsey Community College partnership program or in an accelerated three-year program in partnership with St. Cloud Technical and Community College.
- Any St. Cloud State University student may enroll in the Professional Selling Specialization program, which prepares students to meet the needs of the ever-growing business to business professional selling and sales management fields, and strengthens their competitive advantage as they enter the job market and develop their careers. This specialization program is listed by the Sales Education Foundation (SEF) as one of the Top North American Sales Schools.

Students are admitted based on a thorough evaluation of each candidate’s GPA, curriculum and other academic indicators. Extra-curricular activities may also be considered, and optional personal statements and recommendations may be considered if you choose to submit them.
- Complete an application online or mail a physical copy of your application by the appropriate deadline.
- Put in a request with your high school counseling office to send an official transcript to SCSU.
- Optionally submit ACT or SAT score reports. While test results are not required to complete your application, you are welcome to submit score reports if you feel they will improve your application and/or scholarship consideration.
St. Cloud State University’s online hub makes it easy to learn more about the application process and submit your application. Incoming and existing students may also apply for scholarships specific to the Herberger Business School and the Accounting program. There is no application fee required to submit your application to St. Cloud State University.
