Michael J. Krajewski earned his Bachelors of Music at Berklee College of Music (1998) in Professional Music and Master of Music at Georgia State University (2007) in Jazz Studies, Currently he is finishing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a secondary area in Music Education at the University of Minnesota (2012). His classical guitar teachers have included John Sutherland and Jeffrey Van.
He has studied jazz guitar and improvisation with David Frackenpohl, Kevin Bales, Jim Kelly, March French, and the late Joe Beck. His research interests include advanced improvisational techniques, the integration of technology in music education, assessment in music performance, and curriculum development.
In addition to teaching guitar at St. Cloud State University, Michael is also on the faculty at Minnesota State University Moorhead and maintains an active private studio in Woodbury, MN. Michael has been teaching guitar for almost twenty years. He is the author of “The Complete Beginning Guitarist” and a wealth of educational material that will soon be released in upcoming book ibooks.
As well as performing as a Jazz and Classical guitarist, Michael also enjoys performing popular music. During the summer of 2009 Michael played guitar for the premier of “Power Balladz” at the Lab Theater in Minneapolis. Michael plays Kenny Hill classical guitars exclusively.
