He has participated in masterclasses by: Dave Taylor, Manny Loreanu, John Rojak, Nitzan Haroz, Ralph Saurer, and Bruce Paulson. Notable performance venues include Blue Note Club, NY with the Rutgers Jazz Band and Carnegie Hall with the Rutgers Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
His pursuit in the education field has currently earned him the title of Visiting Professor of Low Brass at Southwest Minnesota State University since 2009. David’s involvement with the St. Cloud Symphony has allowed him to coordinate multiple area workshops with a focus towards children ages 6-12.
Previous teaching positions consist of Stony Brook University, New York as an applied instructor to an introductory music course; Donna, Texas as Assistant Band Director helping the marching program to reach the Texas State Marching Finals; and St. Cloud, Minnesota as a private instrumental instructor.
David is a doctoral candidate at Stony Brook University. He also holds a Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from St. Cloud State University. His major teachers Michael Powell and Mark Springer remain a tremendous influence. “I am very grateful to have the opportunity to do what I love and interact with those who share the same passion for music.”
