Jennifer Tuder holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Performance Studies from Southern Illinois University.
In the Communication Studies Department, she teaches performance and everyday life, performance andlLiterature, and contemporary issues in performance studies in addition to introduction to communication studies. In the Department of Theatre & Film Studies, Tuder teaches acting for everyone and has taught devised theatre.
Tuder directs original student work for both the Players Performance Group for the Communication Studies Department and the theatre program. She is currently touring her original solo performance Suicide Punchline across the country. Tuder’s research interests include performance epistemology, performances of gender and sexuality, performances of grief and loss, performance art, and performative writing.
