Nolan Newberg ’22 graduated from St. Cloud State after growing up in the same Shoreview neighborhood as StrictlyBBall co-creator Joe Doerrer. The pair have captured a huge online audience and their company just hired its first employee. StrictlyBBall videos routinely generate tens of thousands of likes on TikTok and other social media platforms where they cover amateur, professional and high school sports.

St. Cloud State University celebrated the official launch of the SCSU Honors College with a program in the Atwood Memorial Center Alumni Room. #OurSCSU community gathered to learn more about the direction of the Honors College, as well as top priorities for the upcoming year and how to become involved.

 
Dr. Paula U'Ren photoProfessor and former coach honored for helping girls and women break barriers
Dr. Paula U’Ren, a professor and chairperson of SCSU’s Department of Kinesiology and former SCSU softball head coach, was honored with the Breaking Barriers Award by the National Girls & Women in Sports Day Minnesota organization. The Breaking Barriers Award is annually given to an individual who has successfully torn down barriers to provide opportunities in sports for girls and women of all races, ages and levels of ability.

SCSU has been named one of the top Registered Nursing (RN) programs in Minnesota. It was ranked as the No. 2 bachelor’s program in Minnesota by RegisteredNursing.org, a leading resource for the nursing industry. The ranking values how effectively a program supports students in their journey toward licensure and beyond. SCSU was also ranked as the No. 3 school overall in the state.

Join HBS alumni and friends for a meet and greet with Dean Katherina Pattit from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 in the third-floor reception area of Herb Brooks National Hockey Center before the St. Cloud State men's hockey team takes on Western Michigan at 6 p.m. RSVP here by Feb. 20.

Join us for SCSU Day at Target Field when the Minnesota Twins take on the Detroit Tigers at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, April 20. This year's ticket package includes a co-themed SCSU Twins jersey, and sections 101-104, 136-138 and 237-240 are recommended for those looking to gather with fellow Huskies. Purchase tickets here
