Portfolio Review

Professor reviewing student's graphic design work on computer

Students seeking admission to an art program must participate in portfolio reviews after completing their first-year foundation courses.

Faculty members meet with students to critique their foundations artwork and plan their program. Students are invited to reflect on their work and ask questions about the department, the programs, and likely academic paths.

To prepare for the review, informational meetings are held to discuss the process. During portfolio reviews students present a range of art pieces showcasing their foundations work and share written materials about their creative interests and experiences.

Students are interviewed by two art department faculty members who review their portfolios.
