Meet Blizzard, Your SCSU Mascot
Our mascot is a Siberian Husky named Blizzard. Huskies are known for their intelligence, striking appearance, and friendly personalities. Blizzard is no exception!
At SCSU, we are part of a pack.
Blizzard shows us what it is to be a part of that pack by participating in campus traditions, connecting with the community, and always being up for an adventure. Intelligent and free spirited, Blizzard is driven and takes on new challenges. Blizzard is most often seen at athletics events, but is always there in spirit when students are learning in the classroom, making new friends with clubs and organizations, and helping one another out in the community.

Blizzard's History
St. Cloud State University has called themselves the Huskies since the 1930s (The "Normals" didn't stick). The earliest know images of a Husky mascot can be dated back to the 1960s. It wasn't until the late '90s that our mascot was given the name "Blizzard."
Blizzard is often found wearing our school colors—red and black. Our school colors date back all the way to 1899 where flag pins were being advertised in a school paper as being "enameled in red and black."
Blizzard has been to many different groomers over the years and most recently been cared for by Olympus Mascots in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
