Executive Master of Engineering Management
The Executive Master of Engineering Management (EMEM) program is offered jointly by St. Cloud State University and Metropolitan State University in St. Paul and develops advanced leadership and management skills and expands your creativity in a team environment while strengthening connections with students, faculty, and local industry leaders.
Presented jointly by St. Cloud State and Metropolitan State University, you will learn in a program that bridges the gap between engineering and business. The EMEM program can accelerate your career and is an excellent alternative to an MBA for engineers, technologists and those with business degrees working in an engineering/technology company.
The EMEM program is available both in synchronous and asynchronous online modes and students outside Minnesota share the same tuition cost as Minnesota residents.

Admission Requirements
The Executive Master of Engineering Management program begins a new cohort each January. Admissions are considered on a rolling basis. When applying for the program, the School of Graduate Studies serves as a liaison between the applicant and the program. Application materials should be sent to the School of Graduate Studies.
Once all application materials are received, Graduate Studies will forward materials to the program for review and an interview will be scheduled. Thereafter, an admission recommendation will be forwarded to Graduate Studies for a final decision and notification to the applicant.
For admission consideration, applicants must meet minimum Graduate Studies admission requirements and the program requirements listed below:
- Open to individuals with an undergraduate degree in any field as long as you graduated from an accredited institution.
- The GRE or GMAT may be required. The requirement is waived if your undergraduate GPA was higher than 3.0.
- Applicants need to have a minimum of five years industry experience.

St. Cloud State University’s Engineering Management Programs are certified by the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM). ASEM is the lead society for Engineering Management Program certification worldwide.
Graduates of the program are eligible for obtaining the American Society of Engineering Management's Certified Professional in Engineering Management professional certification, (CPEM), on graduation without having to sit a separate examination.Application Deadlines
