Admission Requirements and Details

Admission Requirements

Applicants for admission to the Software Engineering program should have a minimum of two years work experience in a computing field after finishing their undergraduate degree or be currently employed on a full-time basis with a U.S. based organization.

Applicants without the required experience may be admitted provided they do a minimum of one full-time internship during the program (excluding the capstone project) during the course of the program.

International Student Requirements

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for all international applicants with a minimum score of 100 for unconditional admission. Scores between 79 and 99 may be required to clear an English as a Second Language (ESL) exam on arrival.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) also accepted for determining English language proficiency.

  • 7.5 required for unconditional admission
  • 6.5 allows admission with an ESL test

  • The GRE exam admission requirement may be waived for an PSMSE program applicant, if one or more of the following requirements are met:
    • A minimum of two (2) years recent full-time, post-graduation, professional work experience in the computing field;
    • Prior completion of a graduate degree from an institution accredited by an agency listed on the U.S. Department of Education list.
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee online via a credit card.
  • Find scholarship and loan information through Graduate Admissions.
