Initiative
St. Cloud State University Library is working to build and sustain a textbook collection in the library, available for 2-hour checkout. University Library, in partnership with our campus bookstore, was able to provide an initial investment to start the collection. Student Government, working with the University Library Student Advisory Board, hosts a textbook drive at the end of each semester to help the collection grow.
In fall 2024, there are 601 current textbooks available for check-out, supporting 455 course sections of 10,053 students.
To date, the program has created a potential savings of $16.5 million for SCSU students.
How to Contribute
Students, please consider donating your textbook to the library at the end of the semester. Since Fall 2018, 1,813 textbooks have been donated by Huskies for Huskies.
Faculty, please consider placing your course textbooks or other curricular materials on reserve for your students in the University Library. Personal copies, examination copies, and library-owned copies can all be placed on reserve.
We need your help to make this initiative grow. We are seeking cash donations to supplement student and faculty textbook donations to ensure we are able to support the highest use courses and grow visibility of the textbook collection. To donate, please visit www.stcloudstate.edu/impact and select “University Library Operating” or call the St. Cloud State University Foundation at 320-308-3984.
