Biology: Biodiversity, Ecology, and Evolution Bachelor of Science

As a Biology: Biodiversity, Ecology, and Evolution major you will join a preeminent natural science program with coursework that includes a breadth of topics at the cutting edge of recent biological advances. You will study the biology of organisms, including how they live, interact, evolve and adapt over time. Coursework in this major offers educational experience that will prepare you for a variety of careers in scientific research, conservation, federal agencies, industry, academia, veterinary, and more.

A minor in Biology is also available to be paired with any major as SCSU.

Biomedical Science Bachelor of Science

Students who study biomedical science are problem-solving visionaries. You'll build a base of knowledge and skills in biology, disease research and technical design to imagine and create medical equipment that improves lives locally, nationally or internationally. You'll learn to use computer skills to show how organs and internal systems work and to test and demonstrate how a body would react to a medical device. Your class and field work will prepare you for work in laboratory and health-related jobs or to continue your study for an advanced degree.

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Bachelor of Science

Students who major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology: Biotechnology train to do the research that will improve health care and the environment. You will learn about the role genetics plays in shaping the future of medicine, health care and food production. This degree prepares you for immediate job placement in the biotechnology industry for advanced fields of study in the molecular biology revolution. You will put your interest in modern biology into practice as you learn to grow cells in a dish and perform gene analysis and genetic engineering.

Life Science Education Bachelor of Science

Life science education majors combine science courses with St. Cloud State's nationally recognized teacher preparation program to receive the best training and insight on educating and inspiring the scientists of tomorrow. You'll learn how to turn your class material into innovative lessons with a global perspective. You'll tap your creativity to develop laboratory experiments that will keep middle school or high school students engaged in scientific discovery. Through St. Cloud State's partnerships with schools locally and abroad you'll find opportunities to expand what you know and practice what you've learned before you head into the classroom on your own.
