Artist Statement

Through my exploration of art and ideas, I have come to realize that these abstract notions are much closer to fact than one may believe. Perpetrated by comic books, movies, images, and mythology, this interest has shown me that across all media, art, symbols, and ideas are the driving force of how we experience our reality. This can be seen in concepts like hope and morals, that to me, have been guided by art. However, the use of this has also lead to more unfortunate concepts like propoganda and discrimination. So why not use ideas to change these perceptions, so that we may make a better reality? This is what art is capable of. It communicates on a different level than language, creating a complete connection straight from one mind to another. And yes, art is subjective, but that is why it can be so influential. Through the discussion that stems from a piece, we can all expand ourselves further than before. This is what I hope to achieve in my work. To communicate an emotion through a narrative. To participate in the vast collective of ideas so that we all may inspire one another and expand ourselves in the process .
