The Power of We
The Power of We
In the house where all will be good to each other
some walls are blue granite and some are simply brave.
Our house where all are good to each other
smells like nature when rain touches soil,
feels like aurora borealis vibes—teal, blue navy black.
Imagine this: not blinking, not twinkling
a cute, comforting animation.
In our house where all will be good to each other
we feel peaceful. Imagine a scene from Nepal—
the snow-capped mountains, the sun, the trees.
In the whirlwind of bad news—in the darkness
of a constant cycle of hate happening again—
we have to keep hope at the center of community.
The more people standing for our lives
the brighter we’ll burn.
Let’s paint these words on a blue sky—
You have the power to free yourself.
Let’s notice.
Invisible tree, can you see us?
We always think the trees are visible
because of their prominence
but not necessarily so . . . so
let’s notice.
To be noticed by someone who sees me for who I am
feels like the tranquility of snow and green leaves.
To be noticed by someone who comments
on my body structure makes me say,
It’s my body and I’m good with it.
You don’t need to worry about it.
Go soft, just soft. There’s no way
to make mistakes in this.
If you are a child with too much noise in your head
just look at the moon, look at the stars.
They will bring you to wonder, to hope,
to knowing in our bodies and in our breath
we have the power to free ourselves.
Art makes us come alive.
