Recreation and Sports Management Internship

The SPRT 444 internship is the capstone experience in the Recreation and Sports Management major. Students apply the theories, knowledge, research and skills learned in the academic environment in an applied setting.

Eligibility

  • Must have completed 35 credits in the major, be in your last year of study
  • GPA of 2.75 or higher in the major and a 2.5 GPA overall
  • Document your current certification in First Aid, CPR and AED (must be submitted before internship start date)

Internship Details

  • Complete a minimum of 400 hours, during a 12-15 week time frame with an approved agency and supervisor.
  • Maintain a weekly journal and time log that details hours completed, tasks and projects, goals and accomplishments, and challenges that should be addressed.
  • Ensure the site supervisor completes midterm and final performance evaluations.
  • Student Intern completes a final performance evaluation/exit interview.
  • Student Intern on completion of the internship experience gives a final presentation.
