Students can choose a mathematics degree, a mathematics teaching degree or a statistics degree with emphasis in data science, data analytics or mathematical statistics.

Mathematics and mathematics teaching majors focus on the application of mathematics to solve problems while building an understanding of concepts that shape mathematics.  They practice their analytical thinking, problem solving and modeling skills in coursework.

Mathematics teaching majors also learn how to inspire the next generation of students to see how mathematics is useful in their daily lives.

Statistics majors focus on learning concepts and using tools to work with data. They learn to pose questions, design data collection studies, analyze data appropriately and interpret and draw conclusions from those analyses.
