RN-BS Completion Option

The RN-BS Completion Option is a 30-credit program designed for registered nurses seeking to broaden their health care career options with a bachelor’s degree. This program builds upon an existing solid foundation of nursing knowledge and equips graduates with essential leadership skills that will propel future career advancement.
The Nursing program at St. Cloud State University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

Eligibility Requirements
At the time of application you must meet the following requirements in order to be considered. Note: Eligibility does not assure admission.
- Completed St. Cloud State University application (including transcripts).
- Completed all admission requirements in University Catalog.
- Completed RN to BS application with supporting documentation and references.
- Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA for 2.50 in the previous RN program (based on a 4.0 scale).
- Evidence of current unencumbered RN licensure in at least one state with eligibility for licensure in Minnesota.
- Students who have recently graduated from a Nursing associate’s degree program and have not yet passed the N-CLEX are welcome to apply. An RN license is required to begin courses.
Application Process
Step 1
Apply for admission to St. Cloud State University. Applying to the RN-BS completion option is a separate process from applying to St. Cloud State University (see step 2).
Step 2
Apply for admission to the RN-BS completion option. RN-BS applications are accepted on a rolling basis. You must supply evidence of current, unencumbered RN licensure.

Apply Early...Finish Faster
Submit a completed application by February 2 and start on needed liberal education and upper division requirements early. A completed application by the deadline ensures you are accepted to the program and will begin nursing courses the next available semester.
