As a Philosophy student, the career possibilities are endless. Many of the skills instilled by the study of philosophy, such as analytical thinking, clarity, abstract thinking, and writing skills, are useful in preparing students for the workplace as well as for academics.

St. Cloud State Philosophy graduates have gone on to pursue graduate degrees in a variety of fields, including Philosophy, English, School Psychology, English as a Second Language, Neuroscience, Applied Behavioral Psychology, and Public Administration.

We have placed graduates from our programs in graduate programs in schools such as: Colorado State University, Purdue University, Texas Tech University, and the University of British Columbia.  Many other graduates have chosen to pursue a law degree. 

Our graduates are employed in a wide range of fields and positions, including patent searcher, software developer, personal training manager, USDA staffing specialist, quick lane advisor, philosophy instructor, and CNC machine operator.
