The Minnesota Department of Education Educator Licensing Division and the Minnesota Board of Teaching were merged to form the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). All licensing for educators is managed through PELSB.
St. Cloud State University encourages students to apply for licensure upon completion of a preparation program and any additional requirements. Standards for teaching licensure change over time and although you may qualify for a Minnesota Teaching License today, additional course work, testing, or other requirements may be needed to fulfill licensure standards in the future.
