The Antiracism Institute for Teaching and Research envisions an antiracist society that is equitable, empowering and liberating for all. 

Mission

The mission of the Antiracism Institute is focused on the following:

  • To acknowledge and address the racist foundation of U.S. society through higher education
  • To challenge racism in teaching, scholarship and student experiences
  • To address racism in higher education policies, procedures and practices
  • To promote antiracist teaching and scholarship
  • To connect, support and promote collaboration between people/groups and antiracist projects
  • To make antiracist changes for a more equitable higher education system and broader society
  • To advance antiracist goals and processes
  • To initiate sustained discussions on redefining power, hierarchy and leadership
