Vision

The Antiracism Institute for Teaching and Research envisions an antiracist society that is equitable, empowering and liberating for all.

The mission of the Antiracism Institute is focused on the following:

To acknowledge and address the racist foundation of U.S. society through higher education
To challenge racism in teaching, scholarship and student experiences
To address racism in higher education policies, procedures and practices
To promote antiracist teaching and scholarship
To connect, support and promote collaboration between people/groups and antiracist projects
To make antiracist changes for a more equitable higher education system and broader society
To advance antiracist goals and processes
To initiate sustained discussions on redefining power, hierarchy and leadership
