Welcome to your Huskies Advising & Registration Day! Our team is here to guide you through your first steps as a St. Cloud State University student.

On Campus Advising & Registration Programs
Our schedules vary slightly based on the day you are attending. You will receive specific information about your date via email a few days before.
Student Schedule
Before your arrive: Make sure you have completed pre-placement testing and your pre-Advising and Registration Day Workshop online. We will send you details via email.
You will get an email confirming your day-of schedule, but plan on being on campus for about two and half hours of programmed time, with plenty of time to check out campus on your own! Your day will look something like this:
- A Pre-Advising and Registration Workshop: You will be required to complete a short online workshop to help you prepare for your on-campus program. This will include information about policies and procedures at St. Cloud State, how to complete your degree, the liberal education program, and step by step instructions detailing how to register for courses in eservices. You'll receive this via email 10 days before your program.
- Hello Huskies Trivia Game Show: Learn about how we will support you at St. Cloud State, and about many of our exciting opportunities for you to get involved! There will be an amazing prize that you might win!
- Academic Advising Appointment: During this session, you’ll meet with an Academic Advisor to register for your Fall 2022 courses. Come prepared with questions and a list of courses you’d like to take.
- Campus Tour, Campus Card, & Email Set Up: A Student Advisor will lead you around to explore campus, ending at Husky Tech, where you'll get your Campus Card and access your St. Cloud State email.
- Time to explore campus and the St. Cloud Community: You will have time to explore the areas of campus you want to visit while you are here, to take care of business, or just say hello! Don’t worry, we will make some suggestions, to include fun places to go around town! And more!
Family & Guests
Thank you for supporting your student! We have a specialized program for family and friends. You'll receive your specific schedule at check in. Your day will look something like this:

Virtual Advising & Registration
Our schedules vary slightly based on the day you are attending. You will receive specific information about your date via email a few days before.
- A Welcome Presentation: We will share information about policies and procedures at St. Cloud State, how to complete your degree, the liberal education program, and step by step instructions detailing how to register for courses in eservices. We also will also share information about a variety of services, programs and opportunities available to you as an SCSU student.
- Course Registration Appointment: During this session, you’ll meet with an Academic Advisor to register for your Fall 2022 courses. Come prepared with questions and a list of courses you’d like to take.
- Next Steps Appointment: Your final session of the day is with a Student Advisor: a current student here to guide you through your transition to St. Cloud State. During this session, you'll meet with a small group of other new students to complete your end of day tasks, including:
- Registering for Spring Orientation
- Exploring involvement opportunities
- Submitting a photo for your Campus Card
- Learning to navigate D2L, SCSU's learning management software
- Asking any final questions you may have
- Completing the Advising & Registration survey
- And more!
What to Bring
- Government-issued photo ID
You will need a picture ID to get your Campus Card. - StarID and password
You will log in to campus computers and technology services using your StarID and password. - College Transcripts
Bring a list of college-level courses that you have completed. This includes courses you have taken through PSEO or other college courses offered at your high school. - Test Scores
Bring a list of test scores (AP, IB, CLEP, Accuplacer) to share with your advisor.

Families and Guests
We recognize the important role that family members and friends play in the success of our students. We invite and encourage parents or other support person(s) to attend the Huskies Advising and Registration Day with your student.
Please note that students and their guests will participate in different sessions and will not spend the entirety of the day together.
Due to space availability and Covid-19 safety suggestions, a maximum of one guest per person is appreciated.

Accommodations
Should you require accommodations due to a disability, it is important you contact Student Accessibility Services at least two weeks prior to your Advising Day. Without timely notice, we cannot guarantee accommodations can be met. This is for requesting accommodations at the Advising & Registration Day only.
Student Accommodations
If you are interested in receiving accommodations/services for your classes once you are registered, please contact the Student Accessibility Services Office to see how you may qualify. Based on student need and consultation, the following services may be provided through the Student Accessibility Services Office:
- Priority registration
- Sign language/oral interpreting
- Note taking
- Alternative testing
- Referrals to appropriate campus supports
- Textbooks in alternative formats
- Assistive technology
- Student support for coping with a disability in college
- Building orientation (elevators, accessible routes, restrooms, automatic doors, etc.)
