Graduates of the Community Psychology, Counseling and Family Therapy programs build careers that help people navigate human services depending on their specialty area. Graduates are in high demand due to shortages and growth in the mental and behavioral health field.
Our emphasis on applied learning, diverse community experiences, cultural understanding and community engagement also make our students highly employable.
Undergraduate
Community Psychology
Our graduates work as mental health practitioners, youth counselors, behavior therapists, sexual assault advocates, probation officers, direct care staff in residential facilities and many other human service positions.
Addiction Counseling
We train graduates for work as chemical dependency, substance abuse and alcohol and drug counselors; assessment specialists; clinical and mental health counselors; case managers; and as crisis interventionists and recovery coaches.
They find work in correctional institutions, residential care facilities, hospitals, employee assistance programs, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and government agencies.
Graduate
Applied Behavior Analysis
Graduates are in high demand to work with individuals on issues related to autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injury and pediatric health disorders.
Our graduates work as behavior analysts in autism agencies, schools, state and government agencies, business and organizations and for residential and supported employment programs.
We also prepare leaders who become clinical or agency directors or continue their studies for doctoral work.
Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Our mental health counselors work in crisis clinics, correctional settings, schools, community mental health facilities and private practice clinics.
School Counseling
Students who complete our school counseling program serve in public and private primary and secondary schools, assisting students with academic, personal, social and career guidance and support.
