The graduate certificate in Writing Center Administration offers you foundational courses in writing center theory, practice, administration, staffing and training. Designed for both college students and coordinators working in the field, formal credentialing course of study prepares you for work in the growing industry of writing centers in a college, high school or business setting.
All-online certificate courses are usually offered starting in January with ENGL 654 and continuing through the summer, depending on a cohort model.
Program Highlights
- Open to anyone with a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
- Pairs well with an undergraduate or graduate degree in English or a graduate or doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration.
- All courses are available online.
Program Distinctions
- The Write Place is an on campus writing center that employs more than 30 student writing consultants each year.
- Graduates with Write Place experience have gone on to direct or coordinate writing centers at both two-year and four-year institutions in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
