Getting to St. Cloud, Minnesota
International students need to arrive in St. Cloud, Minnesota no later than the start of the academic semester. Follow these tips and procedures to ensure your travel plans do not get interrupted.
Travel Tips and Procedures
Travel arrangements include your flight to the U.S. and Minnesota as well as the shuttle needed to get to our main campus in St. Cloud.
We suggest arriving at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and scheduling a shuttle to St. Cloud State University with Groome Transportation.
Plan and pack your luggage early. Check your airline's luggage restrictions to make sure your bags are not overweight and that you have the correct amount of luggage pieces.
For your carry-on bag: I-20/DS-2109, passport with visa, boarding pass(es), a change of clothing, something to read, snacks, headphones, toothbrush/toothpaste, and important medications.
Pro tip: Use the following address on your luggage label to ensure any lost luggage gets to where you will be.

- All documents from your acceptance packet
- Airline boarding pass(es)
- Emergency contact information (your family, St. Cloud State emergency phone numbers, etc.)
- Prescriptions
- U.S. Currency, and/or Travelers Check to pay for initial expenses; bank draft account information and/or credit card for tuition, fees, housing payments, etc.
Check in with your airline 72 hours prior to departure, 24 hours prior to departure, and just before leaving for your airport.
