Rehabilitation Counseling
The demand for counselors trained to work on the personal, social and vocational effects of disabilities is growing due, in part, to legislative changes that expand the field.
Our program is ready to help meet that demand by teaching you how to evaluate individuals’ strengths and limitations; provide personal and vocational counseling; and arrange for medical care, independent living, vocational training and job placement.
Based on the strength of our program, the Department of Education recently awarded us a 5-year grant of $200,000 annually to help with the tuition and finances of students who are doing internships and field work with Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
That will allow us to recruit more diverse students and students with disabilities who want to become counselors.
We combine technical rehabilitation knowledge and basic counseling competency in our program, which is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) through October 2021.
The following link will provide you with the Rehabilitation Program’s CACREP Outcomes Report.
