Biology Greenhouse

The biology greenhouse is a facility designed to support teaching, research, and outreach activities focused on plant biology. The facility maintains living collections and grows plants to support classes, enable research, and engage with a wide array of people, including prospective students and their families, students in Biology programs, the College of Science and Engineering, the general St. Cloud State University community, and the broader St. Cloud community.

The greenhouse maintains living collections critical to coursework focused on plants. These collections provide tangible specimens and experiences to a minimum of 300 students annually in courses such as Organismal Diversity, Cultural Botany, Plant Biology, and Plant Systematics. The greenhouse also serves as the primary venue for Greenhouse Practicum students and anyone engaged in related independent research or plant propagation projects.
