Web & Application Development
ITS partners with campus units to provide consultation, application development and integration. This enables units to integrate core data with university-wide systems.
Developers support applications that have been created in order to automate processes around campus. From complex workflows that pull data from ISRS, to portlets consumed by the student portal, our team has integrated many systems across campus.
If you have a need for application development or integration, please contact HuskyTech.
ImageNow
ImageNow (also known as Perceptive Content) is a document imaging tool that helps groups on campus securely store their documents. ImageNow can route documents through any necessary processes or workflows and is used in many offices across campus.
For more information about the product or the process required to start imaging your documents, please contact HuskyTech.
SharePoint
SharePoint is a web-based tool that enables teams to collaborate using team sites and document publishing. It provides a secure place to store, organize, share and access information from all major web browsers. Our team creates and supports the hundreds of sites currently used on campus including adding and removing individual permissions.
To request a new site or if you have questions about an existing site, please contact HuskyTech.
Web analytics
St. Cloud State University utilizes Google Analytics to provide free web site analysis and reporting on how web sites are being used.
Monthly Reports
Monthly reports are available for departments and offices to receive which include information about top pages within those sites.
These reports are sent from Google Data Studio. Standard reports show a line graph of all site pageviews, with most recent month's data as well as the previous time period's data for comparison. Data is also shown for the top 25 visited pages in your site listed below main headings and contain similar information for each page shown.
Headings include:
- Pageviews: The total number of pages viewed. Repeated views of a single page are counted.
- Unique Pageviews: The number of visits during which one or more of these pages was viewed.
- Avg. Time on Page: The average amount of time visitors spent viewing this set of pages or page.
Interactive reports are available by clicking on the link in the email that is sent. Within the interactive report in Google Data Studio, you will be able to:
- See full report beyond top 25 pages (if applicable).
- Change the time period of the report.
- Hover over the line graph to see data for each line’s point.
- Click on each page to see line graph data specific to that page.
- Sort table data by columns.
Contact web@stcloudstate.edu with questions or to request a report be scheduled for your site.
Web content management (Cascade)
St. Cloud State University uses Cascade as the web content management system to maintain the subsites and pages within the official www.stcloudstate.edu website in coordination with University Communications.
Maintaining websites and website/page access requests
Designated web editors within campus units are trained to use Cascade to manage content on their websites. All edits made within Cascade are submitted to a workflow which is then reviewed by University Communications to maintain consistency and search engine optimization so that websites and pages remain usable, searchable and accessible.
For editing access and Cascade training, please email: web@stcloudstate.edu.
New sites and major updates
Requests for new websites and changes, such as structure/navigation changes or creating new pages need to be sent to: web@stcloudstate.edu.
