Narcan
A naloxone nasal spray
NARCAN Resources at St. Cloud State
The campus of St. Cloud State University provides free access to NARCAN, a naloxone nasal spray. With over 30 locations on our St. Cloud campus, students, faculty, and staff have convenient access to this lifesaving measure in the event of a opioid overdose.
When a person administers naloxone during an opioid overdose, naloxone disables an opioid’s harmful effects to the brain, temporarily reversing an opioid overdose. It is only effective for an opioid overdose and is otherwise harmless.
The effects of naloxone wear off after 30-45 minutes. Call 911 immediately.

Good Samaritan Law
Minnesota has a Good Samaritan Law which protects someone who administers nalaxone and calls 911 in good faith from prosecution, even if they are using drugs when the overdose occurs.
