Campus Safety
Your safety is our priority
St. Cloud State University places the highest priority on the safety of all members of our campus community. On campus, we provide 24/7 coverage of Public Safety Officers on patrol, and 24/7 coverage in our dispatch center, where our Dispatchers monitor our security cameras, alarm systems, and panic alarms, in addition to answering telephone calls to Public Safety, and answering and investigating emergency Blue Light system activations.
Safety Resources
Safety Escorts
Public Safety provides an evening safety escort service both on campus and within a defined service area that extends approximately 4 blocks west of campus, and three blocks north and south of campus. This service allows members of our campus community who may have safety concerns to be accompanied by a Public Safety Officer to ensure they reach their destination safely.
Blue Lights
Public Safety monitors approximately 54 external blue light phones, when activated the blue light phones display a flashing light on each phone’s pole. Officers respond to all activations of phones in this system without exceptions. You are encouraged to use these phones to report safety concerns.
Public Safety also monitors approximately 58 elevator emergency telephones.
Safe@Stcloud
We also provide the Safe @ St. Cloud app (free to download from the Apple Store or Google Play store), which provides a mobile blue light option that will put you in direct contact with Public Safety Dispatch from anywhere on campus. This app also allows you to let a friend monitor your progress as you travel from one destination to another, and provides information on what to do in an emergency.
Clery Report
St. Cloud State Public Safety Department publishes the Annual Security and Fire Report every year, the report contains campus crime data, how we support victims of violence and outlines the polices and procedure that have been input to improve campus safety.
