Incident Reports

Reports can be filed in person at Public Safety or you can request an officer meet you at an on-campus location. Some reports can be filed over the phone. Call (320) 308-3333 to request an officer. If it is an emergency, call 911.

Fingerprinting

Public Safety offers a fingerprinting service for current students, staff, and faculty, as well as for those going to study abroad, those who need a teaching licensure, and those seeking on-campus employment. Call (320) 308-3333 to set up an appointment. If you are being fingerprinted for a teaching licensure, bring an educational card with you. To request a fingerprint card, contact via email mde.educator-licensing@state.mn.us. Everyone must bring a picture ID, such as a driver's license, military ID, or passport.

Minnesota State Law requires that all candidates applying for initial licensure (for education or work) be fingerprinted for national criminal background checks. The background check requires that one fingerprint card be submitted with the initial licensure application. A state background check will also be conducted.

Monitor Cameras

Public Safety dispatchers monitor more than 350 on-campus cameras. The purpose of electronic video security monitoring is to support personal safety, deter crime, and provide an investigation tool.

Steps for Reporting a Crime

  1. Call 911 in an emergency or if the crime is in progress. An emergency involves immediate danger to a person's safety or property. Ask for a law enforcement agency. In St. Cloud, the call will typically be connected to the Stearns County Dispatch Center.
    • If the crime is in progress, call 911.
    • If the crime has already occurred and an officer is needed to respond, call 911 or (320) 251-1200 to report it to the Stearns County Dispatch Center.
    • If the crime has already been committed, an officer is not needed to respond, or if a report is needed for documentation purposes only, call the St. Cloud Police Department Front Desk at (320) 345-4444, available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  2. Call Public Safety at (320) 308-3333. Alternatively, you can visit the Public Safety Department in person to report the inappropriate conduct and/or criminal activity. Be advised: Public Safety cannot hold crime reports in confidence.
