An opportunity for you to connect with the SAS staff and build a collaborative partnership. In these meetings we help determine what accommodations and/or supports will provide reasonable and equitable access to learning.

We provide services in the areas of Testing Accommodations, Alternatively Formatted Course Materials, Recorded Lectures and Volunteer Note Takers.

Student Rights and Responsibilities
Student Accessibility Services exists to foster access to students with disabilities so students are able to achieve their educational aspirations. These rights and responsibilities have been documented to work together towards that goal.
Rights
- The right to be treated with dignity and respect by all members of the St. Cloud State University community.
- Equal access to courses, programs, services, jobs, activities, and facilities offered by the university.
- Equal opportunity to learn, work and receive accommodations and services.
- Confidentiality of information regarding their disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- The right to receive high quality services and assistance in accordance with our policies and procedures
General Responsibilities
- Self-identify disability status to Student Accessibility Services.
- Provide recent documentation regarding disability related functional limitations.
- Self-advocate for necessary accommodations when meeting with the SAS director.
- Notify the SAS office of any schedule changes after initial registration, if they affect your accommodations.
- Complete a Semester Accommodation Request form after registering for courses, prior to each semester.
- Complete other forms as appropriate for the accommodation (i.e. Exam Scheduling, Supplemental Note Taker) in a timely manner.
- Abide by SAS policies and procedures.
- Communicate any grievances in a timely manner.
- Meet and maintain academic qualifications and essential institutional standards as expected of an SCSU student.
- Follow the university’s Student Code of Conduct.
Laws & Policy
The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act are laws that protect persons with disabilities in postsecondary education.
