Getting Started
SAS is your partner to an accessible academic experience. We understand that individual needs frequently change depending on environment, expectations, situations, etc.—SCSU students with disabilities can request accommodation at any time during their educational journey.
Requesting Academic Accommodations
- Complete the Accommodation Request Form
- Attach disability-related documentation
- After initial review, SAS will email student to either, schedule a welcome meeting, or request additional information
- Complete a Welcome Meeting SAS provides student and faculty a copy of the approved letter of accommodation
Who we serve
Accommodations can address access barriers for enrolled students (undergraduate, graduate, PSEO, concurrently enrolled) with condition(s)/disability that impact learning. Examples of conditions that might lead to disability include, but are not limited to:
- Mental health (anxiety, depression, bi-polar, etc.)
- Chronic health (diabetes, autoimmune, cancer etc.)
- Neurodiverse (ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, etc.) What is neurodiversity? - Harvard Health
- Deaf and hearing loss
- Blind and vision loss
- Physical disability
- Brain injuries (concussion, TBI)
- Other conditions that lead to disability
