Garage/Estate Sales
Garage, yard or estate sales are a low-cost source of used household goods such as kitchen items, bedding, toys and games, used clothing and furniture. They are short-term events by private individuals usually in an open garage or driveway of a home. Sometimes neighborhoods, churches or nonprofit groups organize these second-hand sales, which typically take place Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in the spring or early summer or late summer and early fall. Typically, they are advertised in the local newspaper or signs are posted on street corners in residential neighborhoods. The primary payment system is cash-and-carry.
